Many sites show house prices but not seen any for commercial property, is there a reason they are not published.

When companies buy property (resi or commercial) it doesn't appear on the Land Registry.

My guess is most commercial property is bought by companies.

The above statement is wrong.

The reason is you have to pay the Land Reg for the data and there's a lot of it, so it gets very very expensive. Co-Star have bought it all and have been slowly uploading it onto their databases and are continuing to do so. It will takes years to get it all onto their systems. Access to the information that Co-Star hold on commercial property is expensive to access, so they won't be making it freely available anytime soon.

Other services are available - Radius also hold sold prices (sourced from agents not the LR) and EI Group provide Auction results, however Co-Star is the most comprehensive. Again these are paid for services, so they also won't be making their data freely available.

Good to know, thanks!

Apologies for the thread hijack here - so all these houses that don't appear on the Land Registry when sold as were bought through companies/trusts etc, is it possible to find out the sale price after all? If so, which service would you recommend?

Buying through a company or trust does not mean it isn't registered with LR. You can apply to LR for the price not to be registered as it may be commercially sensitive, but that's very unusual and is not limited to companies or trusts.

Strange. 3 recent purchases (past couple of years) in our block of flats, for example, haven't appeared on the LR price paid data, all 3 bought for personal use but through companies (presumably for IHT reasons).

edit - typo

Probably a typo by the person inputting the data on the LR means the likes of NetHousePrice can't scrape the info. Or have you paid LR for the info and the information isn't in the actual LR document?

I haven't paid, but they don't appear here:

https://landregistry.data.gov.uk/app/ppd/

3 typos in a block of 20 bought in a very expensive part of the country? Sounds too much of a coincidence to me...
