To preserve your warranty. I mean any Fiat dealer that's not affiliated with an Abarth franchise?

Has anyone any experience of shopping round or is service intervals all fixed price?

My local Fiat dealership wouldn’t touch the Abarth. Claimed it needed specific oil that they didn’t stock (fair enough although easy enough to obtain), and the technicians hadn’t been trained on the Abarth platform. Erm, okay.

In my experience service costs fluctuated and were often negotiable. The closest franchised dealer was taken over by Stoneacre a few years ago but retained all the same staff. Fortunately they have always been the cheapest for me. Oil and filter change £99.00 and the most expensive service from memory was £285.00. Cambelt etc was done elsewhere at an independent.

Mine is the older 2009 variant so appreciate the newer models may have a different service schedule/ pricing structure.

As far as I'm aware if it's in warranty it has to be an Abarth Approved Service Centre.

It's definitely worth calling a few for prices, I'm about to have my 2nd year service done and got quotes ranging from £330-£400. Each dealership chain seems to have different prices.
