Finding out who lived in our street in the past

How would i find out a list of names of the families who lived in a street i used to live in ? Im thinking of late 60s to late 70s. Our street had 11 houses but all had multiple families living in them. We had a great little community there, still in touch with a couple but as time goes on starting to forget some names.
Did find online once a list but it was from the 1920s or something. Still interesting though.
This is just for nostalgia and memories.
Tried searching for something like the Census but I'm useless at that type of thing, thanks

Speak to the long term residents?
Go to the library and check the historical electoral rolls for those that didn't opt out.

Census records are only release 100 later so the most recent will be 1921 (if it's been released yet)

Unfortunately we all moved out 1977 + as the street was demolished as they were so run down. Ive got in touch by FB with a couple of our ex neighbours

Quite a few of them are no longer alive, I'm in touch with 2 of them on FB. My Mum still remembers more of them, that street was quite unique in its location, dead end in South London with a footbridge at the end that, to us ,led to another world. Quite violent at times, slums, half the residents were Greek or Cypriot, ominous at night but had the best times of my life there.
Its been built on twice, hardly anything left from back then.
Only found out last week that my Dad had a sister that lived 2 doors down in the middle floor, had same name as my Mum and her fella had same name as my Dad - weird lol. We ourselves moved to next door into the basement - ones bedroom, no heating, no hot water, no toilet of bathroom, one bedroom - thanks

Don't know, but you can on the 1939 Register which is already available.

Ancestry has stuff like phone books, local authority records etc. might be worth a trial

Don't know, but you can on the 1939 Register which is already available.

And a quick check on Findmypast.co.uk shows that you can search by address; click on the '3 bars' Menu, then click on Search, scroll down to the bottom, and addresses are there.
