A what car thread…

My 80 year old Dad needs a new car. He’s always loved big executive type barges but sadly he now needs something a bit more compact - probably 4 door hatch sized. It needs to have decent ride comfort and be well equipped including at least a reversing camera but ideally 360 degree parking cameras.
Ideally the engine should be petrol or hybrid and should have decent power. Budget is flexible between £15-20k. Ideally the car would be less than 3 years old.

My knowledge of modern cars is pants (don’t have any interest in them really), but it always struck me the small Lexus hatches (CT are they?) would suit someone used to bigger/quality cars?

Suspect though you might find him leaving towards a dreadful SUV due to getting in and out, given he’s 80.

Now those things I couldn’t care the less about but given they are all the same it would give him plenty of options.

Mazda CX-30 is ‘nice’ (neighbour has one).

Why does he need a 360 camera? Has he had a bump while parking or something?

I assume he'll only drive automatics too if he is coming from big executive type barges?
