It on the hose coming away from the rad toward the swirl pot. Mines about midway up the hose. Two small electrical clips going to it. Hope that helps

Is this the one that feeds into the ECU?? I expected it to be in the engine block... I am not looking for the fan switch.

I think it's on the left hand side of the engine (if you are sitting in the car) underneath where the air intake hoses join the plenum.

The sensor for the temp gauge is where colin has mentioned (front/ns of engine below inlets)- there is a single wire coming from it with an in-line resistor for calibration of the gauge.
