Thunderbird - emails where?
Discussion
Sorry for the short title, that's Firefox for you...
Anyway, I need to backup all the data from Thunderbird, both emails and addresses and I can't find out where they're stored!
I can see a folder in Documents&Settings->App Data->Thunderbird->Profiles->default.cbj->Mail which seem to have all my folders in, but they all end in .sbd and contain 0 bytes.
Anyone know where they are stored?

Hi
The subfolders in your mail folder should contain the .sbd extension. The files within them will be called things like (where the mail folder is called 'Personal':
Personal
Personal.msf
They should have a size and contain your mail data.
Essentially, if you simply copy the 'Profiles' folder you should back up your email. You can try it by copying the folder and creating a new profile using the Profile Manager which will be in your Start menu and pointing it at the copied profile folder. If you can then see all your email and settings in Thunderbird under your new profile then you've got everything you need.
Personally I run a PGP encrypted folder and have my email in there since I have sensitive work information in there. Using the profile manager you can choose to locate your profile data wherever you like.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that's sorted it.
I was being a bit dense and not seeing there was a
personal.sbd
personal.msf
personal
for each folder.
I'm assuming the abook.mab is the address book?
