Where can I buy some Methanol

Hi,
You may not be aware but I am an avid fan of models, not the 6ft tall ones just the very small flyee, flotee, movee type ones.

I am after a source of methanol, or ethanol. Only a small amount, say 400ml, in the Anglia region but am prepared to travel.

Can anyone recommend a place to start looking, or direct me to a supplier?

won't a chemist shop sell ethanol - I am fairly certain they will - or may orfer it in for you

Isn't methylated spirits just methanol with a colouring added...?

Meths is actually ethanol with methanol/colouring added - which is why it can't be sold after certain times on sundays (IIRC)

try a local model shop if you're looking for model aircraft fuel. They normally have loads and might even sell you some straight methanol (if you're looking to use it for some other purpose......)

Its worth remembering that model aircraft fuel has about 20% oil in it to lubricate the little two stroke engines.
