Im looking for some advice on how to deal a rat situation at work, I'm very concerned as there are droppings and we have seen around 5 rats so far. Our boss has not really taken the situation seriously but has put some poison down and considers that's enough.

So you have rats... And you're asking what you gonna do.

Do you work in a restaurant?

To a certain extent it depends on the type of business.

A restaurant and it’s a job for professional pest control.

If you work on a farm it’s a part of the job.

Plenty of rats in my old work and that was just amongst senior management hehe

Depends on the type of work. I mean in a warehouse environment give Rentokil a call and they'll set up a few big traps along the perimeter. My old work had big traps but they decided to build a warehouse that backed onto a woodland so apart from the local cats we had foxes, squirrels, a pine martin the odd badger knocking about at night.

If it's an office based then to be honest a rat roaming about would be unacceptable.

Start with bait to see how big a problem you have and then get glue boards from your pest control (not nice) and if that doesnt work fumigation for the building. Dont bother with traps.
