DB7 Security system

I have just purchased a i6 DB7 and am finding my way around it. It is an RHD car and in the passenger side door support there is a rubber covered box with what looks like a waterproof push switch on top. I have ascertained that it is part of the security system but am at a loss as to what it does. Can anybody shed any light please. The security system is the original Cobra system with the green and yellow buttons on the fob. Bob

What you are referring to sounds like the accident inertia switch which cuts off the electrics in the event of a heavy inertia shunt. If it is, it has nothing to do with security!

Hi David, got info that it was part of the alarm system from this link to AstonBits, it is part #10.
Thanks for the guidance, I presume that the button like top is to reset in the event of it being activated.
As I have taken the plunge and bought a DB7, no doubt there will be more questions. Bob

I had the same model and discovered that this part will stop the car operating if the passenger door is opened! Inertia switch for sure.

Hi Bob, had my DB7 for 25 years, happy to try to answer any questions you might have.
