The road would increase CO2 emissions but they'll happily let everyone clog up the village instead. I'm sure a car at a cruise is less polluting than a car trying to make its way through a small village.

Wales has a habit of spending money on schemes never to materialise by both local councils and government.


Cardiff bus station started demolition in 2008. Ive lost count the amount of drawings and models architects have done.

The cost of tackling global warming includes not getting the benefits we've become accustomed to.

If residents of Pacific Islands face hardship from Western development, can we harden our heart to a handful of UK residents having slightly worse traffic than they otherwise might?

Bypasses potentially allow cars to achieve their most efficient cruising speed while travelling, while heavy congestion through a village will increase emissions and pollution.

This is an anti-car agenda given a false environmental message.

Part of stopping climate change is small actions by everyone. However I find it hard to believe that traffic at slow speed clogging a village would mean less emissions than a bypass.

Also - the congestion and subsequent pollution/air quality handily plays into the hands of the anti personal transport lobby. It's a win-win for them.

And it's now a CLIMATE EMERGENCY! And for the Guardian the usual terms aren't good enough; it's GLOBAL ***HEATING***
