My son has asked for a way of playing fairly basic Steam indie games such as Raft and Feed and Grow Fish.

I have a Macbook Air M1 so that's no good as most of those early access type games take years (if ever) to reach Mac. Is there a fairly accessible/affordable way of playing reasonably undemanding Steam content on a TV? I'll manage the account so he'd just need a fairly foolproof way of booting whatever up and accessing the content.

(SteamDeck seems ideal, I may just tell him he needs to wait a year!)

I think an Nvidia Shield TV is probably the simplest way; pretty sure you can access Steam via that and it just plugs into your TV. Works just like any other streaming device, ala PS or xbox.

As above, with the current mental state of hardware prices it'd be well worth looking at all the streaming options; Shield, GeForce Now, Stadia et al.

Partiularly as the games listed do not seem to be too twitchy or lag sensitive.
