It looks like the spinning has already begun to excuse their behaviour

From the BBC article.

Mr Wallace said the alleged conduct "risks undermining respect for Parliament".

Christ, did they bugger the regimental mascot or something? I thought that other things going on may also be contributing to "undermining respect for Parliament".

I suspect the soldiers would be familiar with people being drunk so weren’t that horrified.

Good to see the government are going to close the parliament bars and sell off the contents of their cellars.

Charlotte Nichols is English but heh ho.

It's the "too drunk to walk off the "plane and needed a wheelchair" bit that's frankly hilarious. TBH you might as well laugh at all these piss takers.

Did they pay for their own drinks? Claim them on expenses? Or was the bar subsidised?

No, just the usual neddish behaviour from SNP halfwits. David Linden is comedically stupid, has had numerous run ins with the likes of Andrew Neil over the years, who schooled him in currency and borders. Drew Hendry was elected to his constituency in 2015, and apparently only goes back there for the occasional public appearance or for re-election. No interest whatsoever in representing constituents, but as a good little nodding party sheep, he will go far.

And Labour seem all too keen to oblige biggrin

Having been to Gibraltar I think the lady who became so incapacitated that she needed a wheelchair at the other end can be excused.

Does make you wonder why she continued to be plied with alcohol.

She sounds a bit of wuss. Apparently 5 pints was enough to render her comatose - lightweight!

To be fair though, a direct flight's about 3hrs. Allow 30mins either end of that for getting everything set up/packed away.

5 pints in 2hrs. For a wee girl. On a business trip. I think that's not bad going.

Wonder if she'll expense it.

(Also underscores why Labour are so peeved at Cox. He Lords it up in the BVI for millions. Labour MPs can only manage a fraction of that and/or getting off their nuts on Ryanair. They have no issue with second jobs or expenses, as long as they are claiming the most. Classic Socialist guff biggrin).

I assume that Ben Wallace will immediately write to Boris Johnson asking for an inquiry into their behaviour.

I love this quote.

"I had the same amount to drink as the others. I do not know how many drinks I had — I wasn't counting. It was less than five."

Well it certainly undermines my admiration for parliament. Fancy having going on a jolly to a tax haven and not advising your mates on how to dodge tax? Amateurs.

Time to look at the cost of governance, close the bars in parliament, do we need so many MPs?
Do we need Scottish and Welsh government? A cull needed in House of Lords, retire them at 65. Do we need so many local Councillors?

Viva the revolution!
