Aaargh my 2007 Porsche Cayman wont start - there's a display on the dash board stating Rear Spoiler Failure.

There was an issue a fortnight ago as the battery was completely flat, it was charged and there have been no issues since - is there an easy fix ?

And BTW there's also now a 'steering locked' display up too

The lights work but neither the front compartment nor rear compartment open automatically

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Mick

Battery has probably dropped a cell and gone kaput. These cars react very weirdly to low battery voltage (dropping windows etc)

I'd get it replaced.

Hi Jimmy - funny you should mention that, the passenger window refused to work after the flat battery but was fixed by a local garage - they said it was a fuse issue. ? They also said they'd cleared out several error codes too

I have breakdown cover so it might be worth a call in the morning - thanks for the advice

Looking on Google there are several similar issues on rennlist and other forums. Cannot see a complete resolution though.

Hi Gsewell - battery completely flat now, awaiting home recovery assistance
Ever the optimist i'm hoping that once the engine starts that the rear spoiler will sort itself......already sorted out a new battery and fitting hoping that Jimmys advice as above does the trick

Thank again

Mick
