Have I got issues?

When I was 16, home from school sick (usually the house would be empty at this time of the day) someone tried the back door for size. Scared the
out of me. Dog (sheeba, tamest thing in the world) went nuts. I ventured to the kitchen when I hear the front door being tested. Panic Button straight away, Cops on the way automaticlly. 3 mins and they're here, off on a hunt for the buggers. They stayed around till mum came home, I've never been the same on my own since, if I hear a noise, I go mental.
As I type I'm sitting here with tv in the background and the cctv tv beside the computer screen. Little bit paranoid, me.

About 15 minutes ago, halfway through typing a post, I thought I could smell aftershave. But I'm not wearing aftershave! SOMEONE IS IN THE HOUSE!!!! I grabbed a steering lock that was in the spare room (where I'm sat now & where this PC is) - like you do, the dog (in the same room) wakes up, ears priked, head low, he's on a mission, making me worry even more!
If so... I think we've found the answer!
You want to try a spell as a security guard!
I used to have to look after a decommissioned brick factory in the middle of nowhere.
One night I went out on patrol and my torch died. It was so dark that I walked into an earthmover I couldn't see. I guessed my way back to the office and stayed put.
Next morning I found that I'd walked four feet from the edge of an 8-foot deep trench.
I was only ever spooked once, in a deserted factory in Hartlepool. All the machinery was shut down, the only noise was the ticking of the clocking-in machine. In broad daylight and near a council estate where I could see signs of life, it felt like I was being watched from every nook and cranny. I did one 17-hour shift and never went back.
It's no wonder I have grey hair...

Perhaps the smell of aftershave came from the missus? I wonder how she could have acquired such an aroma? Very perplexing!
Think I've sussed it- the window is open, someone walking past on the pavement below could have had strong (and questionable quality) fragrance...
Ah, that'll be it, then.
Someone on their way for a romantic tryst, bearing a Winged Horse ornament and 20 Benny Henny, having partaken liberally of White Lightning and used an entire bottle of fake JP Gaultier off the market.
Surprising that you missed the clank of Elizabeth Duke, really.
