I have the new M1 Max macbook on order and am wanting to connect it to my big external monitor.
I'm mainly a PC user and currently have the Samsung G9 49" ultrawide monitor (connected by digital display port) which I want to connect to but unsure if it'll work at higher refresh rates?
It runs at 240Hz (5120 x 1440) on my PC now - will I be able to get this resolution and refresh rate on the new Mac and if so, what cable would I need as I don't think HDMI will work on these higher settings?
Would a thunderbolt 4 > Display port cable work?

The Max CPU supports up to three external displays with up to 6k resolution each plus one external display at 4k at 60Hz, plus the built in display, simultaneously. Apple also state over a billion colours on each display.

No idea if it will support your monitor but it certainly won't go to 240Hz, it's not a gaming laptop.
