anyone use lighting gels /theatre gels

im looking for a sheet of gel /whatever to dull down /defuse a white led light

i can find coloured gels for sale , not sure what i need to search for ...guess it would have a tracing paper appearance

You want scrim for diffusing (might go by a different description these days).

I've a load of ND gel, but that will just make it slightly darker.

i dont have bright spots its just a bit too bright...can i dim it and not alter the colour?

With ND gel yes.

Where are you? I've got a roll that's part used, you can have it if you can collect (North Staffs). Not sure of the level of ND, think it's the darkest one, I'd have to check.

0.3 (the one you linked to) reduces the light by one stop: I think that's by half but I'm on shakey ground there.

Yes - a 0.3ND = 1 stop = 1/2 as much light

now ive seen the orange one that makes it lower kelvin number ...if i wanted less light plus change the temp would i use both or what ?
