Avon wv7 winter tyre - ok choice?

Hi,

Looking to sort out some fresh winter tyres and my local tyre place has recommended the Avon Wv7, reviews are firmly middle of the road, just wondered if anyone had any feedback on this tyre or not.

Just to say I had some Avon winters on a previous car, they were dire on dry roads, ice and snow - and just as bad when the weather warmed up.
