Tiny rust specks, Brake dust?
Discussion
Use a iron fall out remover - the purple stuff. Someone has probably been doing some metal angle grinding near the car and covered it in tiny metal pieces.
I may have done the same on my car when was doing a little of bit of welding work. The purple fall remover dissolved it straight away

Some people park near factories that spew stuff out or near railway lines and the metal particles get carried a surpirsingly long distance in the wind.I may have done the same on my car when was doing a little of bit of welding work. The purple fall remover dissolved it straight away

Wash car with dilute solution oxalic acid. About a teaspoon of crystals in a pint of water. Wash car first. Then wipe the solution over the paintwork. Leave 10 minutes. Rinse well. Particles should have been removed, repeat if necessary.
When sorted, apply whatever product you desire e.g. wax polish , whatever.
Used to be able to buy oxalic acid from the chemists,no idea if still possible today.
