Hi, new here and not very good with car stuff but thought pistonheads might be able to help. Got a brand new clutch fitted (3 piece according to mechanic) after old one went completely. I’ve had it back to the garage twice now as the pedal keeps sticking half way up, I need to hook it with my foot to return it all the way. Sometimes it gets jammed in gear and I need to stall it to get it back to neutral.

Mechanic has replaced the fluid and the spring, but still having issues.

Any ideas what it could be?

You probably already know the answer, take it back to the mechanic and get it fixed.
Don't pay anymore money, he is responsible to fix the problem.

That’s it been back three times now but clutch and gears still sticking intermittently. Absolutely nothing predictable about it either ie happening in all different gears / different speeds. The guy was recommended by my usual (10+years) mechanic who is off work just now. He said it must be the master cylinder needing replaced. Honestly have no idea.

I would speak to your usual mechanic for advice if you can.
It could be the master cylinder leaking, but he should be able to categorically tell you that, as fluid would be disappearing from the top-up reservoir.

Rather unlikely when it was fine before.
