Did you know, do you care, do we (with apologies to those on PH who don't identify as men) deserve it?

With so many special days for this, that and the other, International Men's Day seems to have been overlooked in the decades since it was founded in 1999. Have a look and read some stuff about why we have our own day - perhaps it's because we're worth it:

ETA; Apostrophe inserted, just for Eric.

I thought under our new woke world. we aren't allowed to be proud to be men? Aren't we supposed to be apologising for everything our gender has done wrong ever?

Men don't perpetually consider themselves a victim so don't feel the need to have a day dedicated to them.

According to this person, if you can define a man or woman then you're a liar. https://youtu.be/NomuFNvKF2g?t=4860

Earlier on this year we had International Womens Day and all the ladies were given a free lunch. No-one complained and the women got their free lunch.

Today, lots of women complained about IMD. So they had to change the free lunch to anyone who identified as a man. Lots of women getting free lunches as I type.

Suppose I had written this in my initial post?

"Today, November 19th, is International Men's Day though not many people, men included, know that it exists and has done since 1999.

It's a day to recognise the achievements of men, their contribution to society in the Police, Fire Fighters, Ambulance Officers and Hospital Emergency Departments, Armed Forces, Charities, Religion, Government, Business and Academia and in many other facets of life worldwide.

It's also a day to acknowledge that sometimes men need help. Help to deal with the stresses of life, to cope with the challenges of age, to battle their inner demons, to combat despair, to overcome prejudice, sometimes help to find their next meal or somewhere to sleep.

Read about the aims of International Men's Day, spread the word about International Men's Day, celebrate International Men's Day https://internationalmensday.com "

It's also International Missing Apostrophe Day - a day that is celebrated virtually every day here on PH.

There are also plenty of extraneous apostrophes (or should that be apostrophe's) scattered around, so I reckon the tally evens out.

Don't knock it, I was working in an office today and a very attractive young woman was handing out free cake to celebrate the occasion. I'm on board with that!

Where is written,

"On November 19 International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. We highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men’s well-being. One of the six pillars of International Men’s Day is to improve gender relations and promote gender equality not only for men but for women too. In this light our theme for 2021 is “Better relations between men and women.”

The solution to that is to do likewise on IWD.

Well, that proves what a useless bunch they are then. Not only are they wrong, they're also inconsistent.
