Looking at joining the DealerAuction.co.uk site to find regular, decent stock - under £10k.

Is it worth joining?

Also, any reviews on the Sytner Trade Auction site would also be useful?

Hi, not VAT registered. Got a meeting with the Accountant this week to discuss VAT registration - I understand it is mandatory to join most car buying auction sites.

It is not mandatory to join Dealer Auction. It is however mandatory to join Sytner Trade, etc.

Ahh right - it used to be 3 years ago when I joined.

It was owned by someone else then but has no been bought and is run by Autotrader so prob changed the VAT req then.

Yes. I’ve bought 6 cars this week from DA. There is some st on there but also a good source of stock.

Thanks. Will join DA and see how i get on. Like with anything Trade, I guess there will be traders using DA as a platform to dispose unwanted/troublesome stock.

I got sick of dealers saying to me "we don't road test our part exchanges"

Back on the train for me far too many times.

Time wastage like everyone else is what i don't want. Just want to look at a set of decent cars, make offers, pay and have them collected. Its a real shame how most main dealers don't offer part exchanges locally like they used too back in the day. Online is good but has it drawbacks, sadly the perfect platform for the dishonest.

We do put quite a few things on dealer auction, Usually older stock high mileage non franchise.

Also most vauxhall's we get due to arnold sharks across the road selling them for peanuts.

I have noticed a lot of tripe going on there and prices being asked are silly
