Received an SMS text yesterday saying someone had emailed PH about a car I have advertised and could I contact them on the Gmail email address provided in the message.
Scam or genuine?
Thanks

Thanks Ben.
I copied the email address in the message ready to compose an email then thought better of it.
Do you want a copy of the message or the email address to pursue?
I'll block the number on my phone.

Yes please Tony, feel free to share here so that others will know to avoid it and I'll report the address to Gmail for abuse.

Copy of SPAM email received yesterday

mHelpDesk MSG:
PISTONHEADS: James, emailed us regarding your listed car, is it still up for sale? kindly email him, via jamebirch40@gmail.com with your firm price email only.

Reply "YES" to continue receiving updates.

The number it came from was +15712226592
Now 1571 is the number you call for any messages is it not?
