Marvel does Home Alone.

After enjoying Wandavision, until it fell apart, struggling through Falcon and Bucky, which was fairly bad and enjoying the rollercoaster quality and ham-fisted continuity of Loki, I felt no urge to watch this. I'll wait until it's all out and see what the reviews say. I watched What If as well, that had some OK eps.
I'm not a "young adult" by any stretch, but this is by far and away the best of these MCU spin-offs so far.
It's so much "smaller scale" than all the rest of the grandiose, overblown MCU stuff.
Occasional bits of dry humour, characters with more than one dimension, feels a lot more personal and intimate than any of Wandavision, Loki and FAWS.
..so far.

I've just caught up with the first two episodes. Hardly attention grabbing so far but fairly inoffensive.
I reckon we'll see her father make a comeback.
To me, not a patch on Wandavision and Loki, both of which were memorable with intrigue, style and character. I do like the actor of Hawkeye though and envy/admire (there must be a German of Japanese word for that feeling) the husband/wife team dynamic.

This is more watchable than the smug and tedious Wandavision. It’s better than the frankly awful Falcon and Winter Soldier show. That managed to dispel any semblance of chemistry between the two leads and had a woefully miscast villain.
Loki was a total mess with more awful casting and dreadful pacing.
So far Hawkeye is…OK? Renner is a dour man and couldn’t carry a Bourne film. Steinfeld can act but again, no chemistry between the two and it’s SO SLOW. Tonight’s episode featuring boring conversations between boring ensemble actors. Disney Plus have demonstrated repeatedly that they don’t know how to make the. OST of longer form storytelling.
The whole show feels padded out, it’s just mediocre.
The last few films have been duds as well. I’m amazed how quickly the MCU has fallen to bits.

I think Hawkeye is pretty alright for comic book TV. Doesn't take itself too seriously and benefits (so far) from taking place in a smaller on-screen world, as somebody mentioned above.
WandaVision was good I thought, and did stuff and was written in a way people didn't expect prior to when it aired. If it's not some people's cup of tea then that's perfectly fine too.
Loki was a rambling mess, despite the talent and chemistries which had been assembled in front of the cameras. A total waste of a god or demi-god character such as Loki.
F&WS was crap. Could've done so much with both characters, especially that of the WS, but it might as well be totally forgotten. Not worth watching for those who've missed it. I can cut some slack for the writers and production team after learning of the rewrite post shooting etc, and it'd be interesting to see what it was originally supposed to be but what was rolled out is best missed IMHO.

The Moon Knight character has potential to be interesting if done right. Initially a 70’s knock off of Batman, the USP is the titular character suffers with schizophrenia and has multiple personalities, whilst also being a superhero.
I understand Disney wanting to capture a female audience and show strong empowered women. But that can’t be done at the expense of coherent story telling. These films are all fantasy but they have to respect their own, self imposed logic and not treat the audience like imbeciles.
The Black Widow villain; Taskmaster, is a great character with an interesting set of powers. Photographic reflexes so HE can duplicate any move or fighting style once seen. So in the source material he can throw a shield like cap and go hand to hand with anyone as he’s seen them all fight.
In Black Widow the character is rendered mute with none of that brought out or explained. The character is also made a woman yet a male stuntman does all the work behind the mask.
What a silly unforced error. As they are currently the biggest franchise on the planet I hope they realise where they are going wrong and take steps to do better. With unlimited resources and access to the best talent their output should be beyond reproach
