Fuel Leak

My Chimaera is off the road with a fuel leak. Started her up the other weekend and was hit by a petrol smell almost imediately. Shut it off and their was petrol dripping (at some rate) from the underside of the car from the chassis rails arround the bell-housing area.

The top of the engine was perfectly dry, so the leak must be from the fuel line where it rises up towards the fuel rail.

Before having it transported for a repair, the question to the knowlageable collective is, are their any joints in the fuel pipe down the back of the engine (which may have worked loose and just need tightening,) and is this a common problem.

I can't actually see the pipe from above, and will only put it on the axle-stands if i intend to do the repair myself. The 'bible' suggests that due to the high pressures this may not be DIY'able...

Any thoughts?

Just had my fuel lines replaced from pump to engine - not an easy job, there are two pipes i believe, and they thread around the belhousing, my mechanic re routed one of them as it was impossible to replace in the same way, make sure you use High pressure pipes...

An easy ish job if you are mechanically competent, i'm not BTW

I had a quick look last night and the access will be tortuous. I think its a job for a professional with a full ramp.
