A rather ignoble trip home on the back of a breakdown truck last night. It feels as though the engine is running one or two cylinders short of the full compliment and there is a definite smell of petrol. Just waiting for the RAC to turn up and run it to my dealer. Here's hoping for an electrical gremlin rather than something more fatal...

I hope it is only something small like you say, HT circuit problem or an ECU hiccup maybe.

Thankfully, it was a faulty throttle body holding 3 of the injectors fully open. All fixed.

My car has felt a bit underpowered/rough recently too. No smell of petrol though! Were you having problems when starting from cold? It's going in next week to hexham so hopefully it'll get sorted there.

Idle had been a little rough leading up to it but it was starting fine.

Phew!, these throttle bodies/pots have a lot to answer for regarding sleepless nights!! I wish there was a fault warning code stating, DON'T WORRY IT'S ONLY THROTTLE BODIES OUT SLIGHTLY, NOTHING MAJOR
