Not the most exciting topic but if anyone can answer this, it’s the peeps here. I’m about to possibly buy a 2006 e90 320, but need to have isofix. To save a potential wasted trip, anyone know if this model came with them as standard?
I don't know a 100% about the E90 320, however the 2006 E90 330d that I had-had them in the passenger seat and in the rear seats too. I can't honestly see why the 320 wouldn't have them if the 330 did though. jwbc1984 said:
Thankyou!
I read somewhere they were a cost option for a while in the naughties, before they became mandatory. Dunno the dates of that or if that’s true…
I’ll take the gamble and go an have a look.
I think it probably is true. Had a 2006 325i that didn’t have them and a 2006 335i that did.I read somewhere they were a cost option for a while in the naughties, before they became mandatory. Dunno the dates of that or if that’s true…

Just ask the seller to send you a pic of the rear seats.
They have plastic covers and so are very obvious. If they are there then you have isofix.
ETA - if you haven’t already, read up on issues with the 4 cylinder engine in the 320i. Seem to have a number of known issues.

I'm trying to recall...
One car that I had, and I'm sure it was an LCI E90, had ISOFIX in the rear. It was a cloth interior not leather, and I'm sure it didn't have the plastic covers / clip points that are shown in the picture above, rather just had the steel hooks in place, the ISOFIX arms just moved the cloth out of the way.

Thanks! I'm looking at a cloth seat one - no plastic covers but the seller has had a look and found them hidden away. Thanks - will look up engine issues. Its FSH and quite a few miles, so I hope engine issues would have surfaced by now....

My E39 saloon had them, with no plastic covers and they were just hidden away - I believe BMW still stock an adaptor which essentially pushes the seat material gently out of the way to allow for the prongs of the car seat so that the car's seats aren't damaged.
My E46 and E90 were like that whereas the various 1 series I’ve had since has the plastic flaps to access the isofix points. Ironically since we’ve moved on from isofix seats…Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
