What is everyone's experience of selling a motor this time of year?

Realistically I could wait but I wouldn't mind the drive space back.

Nothing fancy just 3-4 grands worth of Ford but normally would prob wait but as the car market is a bit loopy maybe ok?

I’m selling both of mine at the moment, well sold one of them at the weekend.
Had a lot of interest but not alot of genuine people in a position to buy, so just like any other time of year really!

I sold my 350Z last December, went fairly quickly and easily.

I think it would be a mistake to decide a car 'has to be gone by Christmas' as it might lead to stress or selling it for a knock-down price. However if you're ready to sell, I don't think there's much problem in advertising it now - if someone offers a price you're happy with, all the better, if not then can keep it on sale into Jan. Yeah you might pay another £30 for another month's listing here on PH, but then you might well also save more than that on a month's insurance and road tax.

I think January/February are a lot quieter so if you can...sell it now...

I've bought a few cars around Christmas. I usually have 10 days off, and once the festivities are over, little to do . So we go 'just for a look'.

it wouldn't surprise me if there are more than a few people looking to buy themselves a car for Christmas smile

I think quite a few are probably looking for a good winter deal so if it's well priced then I think you should shift it no problem.

A friend is buying a motor to visit family instead of the usual hire car.
