Hi i ordered a Skoda Scala in July on lease it was marked down for nov 12th delivery but ive finally got info from the lease company after 6 emails that it production has been stopped til the new year and they now have given me a build week of week 3 2022.

My question is can i cancel? I havent paid anything yet all ive done is put in a order with the company. I've looked for t's n c's on the lease website but nothing is listed.

The simple answer is to call them & tell them you wish to cancel as they can't deliver on the specified date & go from there.

I'm using me camper as a stop gap atm but it is on limited mileage on the insurance plus it is 2.2t 3.2l diesel, not the best for commuting. I was considering just buying something used if I did cancel my lease

Update on this now they are telling me it will be March. Lease company is Rivervale. Has anyone else had this issue with them?

I am aware of them, This issue is a world wide shortage because of semiconductor chips, wont be much Riverdale can do about about build slots and times just sit back and wait.

A bit late for the OP but 'in-stock' vehicles are really the only way to go with leasing atm

We're 18 months into a two year lease with Rivervale. Have to say service received from them has been pretty good from the off.
Given the dramatic change in mileage from taking out the lease to now, they were also pretty good when I phoned up to renegotiate the payment.

Not a lot they can do given current production issues. And March is only a few weeks away now.

Some manufacturers have been prioritising retails deal build slots over fleet build slots, thus fleet deals have been taking longer to be built, I know some manufacturers have withdrawn all fleet deals and won't even supply a known fleet customer with a retail deal.

Renault seem to be on the better side of production lead times compared to some other manufacturers, generally 4-6 m (dependent on model) for cars, LCV is around 7m, there are fleet terms but nowhere as good as they used to be and they are still in bed with Motability but with higher advance payments than in the past which would indicate less favourable fleet terms.
