Evening all, I need a new amp!

Currently running everything through a Sony DA3300ES, which has done the job perfectly for the last 10 years, but is starting to show its age!

I now have a 4K TV and Sky Q with the 4K Ultra HD package, so need an amp to match.

I currently feed everything into the amp and then it splits off to 4 different TVs to split both sound and picture to all.

So need at least 5 HDMI inputs, ideally 2 HDMI outputs and must be 4K pass through. Also running 6.1 surround sound.

I thought Black Friday would be the time to grab a deal and trotted off to Richer Sounds, but they have very little unless I spend a fortune! My second choice of Hispek in St.Albans has seemingly gone, and John Lewis don’t sell them, so I’m out of options.

I don’t want to go mad, so budget approximately £4-500, but an go up if needed.

Anyone got any suggestions?

What speakers/sub do you have and do you mean 5.1?

Not many discounts to be had right now due to chip shortages but if you absolutely need 2 HDMI outputs then you would do well to check out the Denon X2700H. Also take a look at the classifieds on avforums if you’re not averse to buying used, might find yourself a decent bargain….

I have a DENON AVRX2700H, it is 8k which is overkill but fantastic amp - may stretch your budget unless you can find an offer.

Cheers for that chaps, yes have 6.1 Bose surround
Sub
Front left, front right, front centre
Rear left, rear right, rear centre

Funnily enough the Denon is the one I was looking at and indeed recommended by the chap at Richer Sounds I spoke to, but he said the second HDMI out was picture only no sound? Is that right do you know?

Can’t see anything in the manual to suggest that, maybe an owner can help you there?

Also not sure how the Denon would deal with the rear centre speaker as it’s not a Dolby configuration that I know of. What Bose system is it?

The fella at Richer Sounds told me it was picture only, otherwise I`d have seen the images and assumed all was fine!

I suppose I don`t really need 2 HDMI outputs as currently only have 1 and that goes into a HDMI splitter to disperse off elsewhere. I was just trying to limit any degradation to the main TV as that`s the one I want the best image possible on. The others split off to the kitchen, office and outside, so not so important.

The speakers are Bose Acoustimas II with the additional rear centre speaker

I don`t suppose you have a second HDMI connected to the second output do you? Could you confirm if it sends both picture and sound for me if you get a sec?

Cheers thumbup

I would be amazed if this were true. What would be the point of a 2nd HDMI output other than limiting yourself to Projector owners.
