Just got rid of the TVR and bought a 420bhp 964 Turbo. Oddly enough it's going to need new tyres soon. What are others using? What's good/bad/indifferent? Anything to avoid?

Was looking at AVS sports, has anybody been down that route?

I'd love to hear about your car (new thread...). Also a I have 550bhp K27HF turbo you may be interested in. Back to your question.

As for tyres, the steep torque curve makes sticky ones a must. All normal road tyres spin up in the first 4 gears, which can be a pain on the motorway...

I've moved to 2 sets of wheels with wet and dry tyres. That aside conti sport contact 2's probably get my vote. Hated the original version of the tyre but the 2's seem much better.

It's Grand Prix White, Cobalt Blue leather, 67k with engine upgraded to 420 bhp. K27, Hayward & Scott system, cat bypass. Paid £25k. Get it in a weeks time. Can't wait.

Thanks for the contacts.

Currently using SO2A's (N3's). So far (4000 miles) so good even in the wet

I'm on S02A's (N3) at the moment and they're slidable in the dry in 2nd and even 3rd whilst staying progressive.

Trouble is, they spin up real easy in the wet as the boost comes in - i mean 3k rpm in 4th, straight line, add 1/3rd throttle, and wait for the back to slide around. They're okay in the wet until they're half worn, and then just get worse...

I'm going back to Conti's (N2).

Good, does that mean you are keeping the Turbo VS?

Have been trying Pirelli Corsas lately.
They're a very soft compound for a road tyre, so I'm not expecting a lot of life, but they're very grippy, better in the cold and wet than the Dunlops, and have a stiff sidewall and hinge, making for more stability (at the expense of ride comfort)
