Hi All,

I'm looking for a computer desk for my son; he spends a lot of time on his computer (primarily gaming) and I'm looking for a robust computer desk. I'd like it to have a pull-out 'drawer' for a keyboard and ideally, a section that will hold his tower case.

I've purchased desks in the past and they always seem to be of very flimsy construction - I'm looking for something that won't fall apart, preferably, something made from real wood.

There are plenty of desks for sale in the £75-£150 range, but I'm looking for something of rather better quality.

What computer desk do you have, that you'd recommend ?

Thank you

Ikea tend to build solid desks, and if you take a look at the Gumtree or eBay, you can normally find them even cheaper than new.
CPU holders and keyboard trays can be bought separately, and I've found them to be a better quality, compared to what is normally bundled in.

I have a Jual which has been excellent.

Otherwise Ikea Fredde which is somewhat cheaper.

I'd be wary of those pull out drawer desks. Terrible ergonomics.

I suggest having a look at the Office / Home Office / Computer / Workstation type desks from Viking Direct, Staples and John Lewis.

My own desk is functionally like this one having drawers on one side and on t'other a cupboard (in which the computer base unit sits - make sure it fits first - when assembling I left out the cupboard internal shelf for space and the back for cables to go in/out).
