Going to view a Boxster tomorrow at a non specialist dealer, if it all looks good I will be getting a PPI done as it’s a manual and will probably get a Porsche warranty for it in a few months.

So just to double check here, I guess I need to put down a deposit on the car as obviously will be booking the PPI and if the car is sold between then and now, might still be liable for the PPI.

Will getting the garage to write “subject to PPI” on the car order contract, enable me to get my money back if the car turns out to have problems?

Surely this is just a discussion between you and the dealer about how to do it?

I was just wondering how other people have done it.

The dealer may have a policy of giving a full refund of your deposit regardless of the reason for you cancelling, or they may only do so under certain circumstances. Ask them about it and get it in writing before you hand over any money.

If they're a reasonable outfit, they should tell you all about it before you even ask the question.

Which dealers then ppl will know a bit about dealing with them. To be fair ask dealer as most good dealers should not have an issue

Went and viewed the car, they had actually got mid-sussex Porsche to do their warranty check on it.

Saw the report and sale was agreed on the basis of the dealer correcting the faults noted, which were mainly cosmetic.
