This will put the cat among the pigeons. Yes i do cook from scratch and can cook roast dinners etc but sometimes I just can't be bothered and chuck a ready meal in the oven. Usually just a sheppards pie or lasagne, but I spotted this sausage filled Yorkshire in Sainburys and it was delicious.
Only £ 3.50, if i had to buy the ingedients it would cost over £ 5

Sonething creamy pasta based. Mac and cheese or carbonara type thing.

Ready meals that are less than £3 or 2 for a fiver type deal are usually a disapointment

M&S Jalfrezzi. Their fancy macaroni cheese is good too.

Like the OP I cook from scratch, have nice homecooked meals and rarely have any form of ready meal, however when I do, it is almost always a Sainsburys Jalfrezi with separate pilau rice, can't remember the last time I had one though.

A Cornish pasty. Usually from Warren's. However, I'm not averse to a Ginsters for a snack. Microwaved so it's a bit soggy. biggrin

Partial to a Cook lasagne when I CBA to make my own. Also fond of a fish finger sandwich, beans on toast and tins of small sardines - Skippers, brisling. Not really ready meals but easy and delicious.

Oh yes 45 seconds in the microwave for a Ginsters cornish pastie, love it with a bit of brown sauce.

I have never tried Cook, but I remember there is one in Petts Wood. I might pop in and pick up a lasagne and a fish pie.

Yes, the M&S curries are pretty damn good.

I prefer the ones that don't say to stir halfway through the microwave time, too much effort.

erm.

Actually the M&S curries are very good ( I like the jalfrezi, the hot chicken tikka, and the korma is really good too). Chicken pakora starters are quite decent also.

Partial to the M&S macaroni cheese. For carbonara, pretty easy to make properly and just as quick really.

The lasagne is not bad at all. Never tried the fish pie.

They used to do a great chocolate sponge pud too, but alas no more.

Would go with a curry too, not sure if they still do it but the king prawn jalfrezzi from Aldi I tried a few years ago as more than decent - nice bit of heat and not stingy with the prawns.

Waitrose Fiery Chicken Curry. It has real depth of flavour, generous amounts of chicken and a fair amout of heat - £4.

Nope, nothing like the Waitrose ones. Though their chicken pakoras are fantastic.

The Waitrose chicken biryani is very nice.

Over £5, really? I would reckon more like £2 to make it yourself.

£2 would just about cover a packet of sausages.

is my favourite.
OH doesn't eat mammals, so I occasionally get a couple for during the week, when she's having fish (again)

"For two" is not showing any ambition.

M&S Fish pie is best from the many supermarkets we have tried.
