Anyone actually made their exhaust quieter???

All this talk of "straight through exhausts" and "pre-cat removal" got me thinking - anyone gone "the other way" and made their Chim [i]quieter[/i] than standard?

I know this is probably going to get me tarred and feathered for the mere suggestion....and I do wish to point out that I'm NOT considering this!

Wouldnt have thought so as thats one of the major selling points IMO.

there was a quieter exhaust option available from teh factory .. it was std fit on cars going to i think sweden or switzerland where nice cars are frowned upon

the tailpipe sections have extra absorption type inserts inside them ...

Left mine as standard.

Noisy enough as it is, but can be reasonably quiet at motorway speeds.

Wouldn't want it any louder. I wouldn't want to buy one with half the guts of its exhaust taken out.

Have a lovely straight through job on my lil puppy.. and MAN 'o' Man doe sshe howl! Lucky its not an everyday car or the neighbours would torch it while i slept! I've had it for a week and i still dont know if the cd player works or not..

BTW, Mine's going in for the "exhaust mod", and an ACT induction kit week after next.

So, fear not, I worship at the alter of V8 noise too.

Not a Chim, but I'm continually struggling to keep the noise down on the V8S. At some venues I even have to add external silencing to get under the noise test.

Yep me too Peter, 103/104dB at Curborough sound check, now have to hire cans from ACT to drop down for Donnington on 5th August.

and Germany where a standard exhaust was also shipped over to ba fitted as an aftermarket sale. Nice little earner that one.
