Polar_Ben's next trip

Obviously, the recent hot spell has been a bit much for Ben, so he's announced an expedition to walk to the South Pole next year!

After following his trip to the North Pole last year, I'm really looking forward to seeing how he gets on this time, and I know it's over a year away, but :shout: Good Luck Ben!

Possibly (at least in part) but there are a few other companies in the running.

Edit to add: I'm actually planning to walk to the South Pole and back again - no one's ever done this. Well, apart from Amundsen, 93 years ago. And he had dogs...

Ben,how do you know the terrain is safe and you are not going to fall thru a glacier?,is it safe or have i been watching too many films.

Ben, if you take a camcorder with you and record the journey, can you get a documentary on TV, like that Dominic chap did in Siberia?

Crevasses will be a problem, especially on the Beardmore glacier. We spent a month in Greenland this year learning how to deal with them. Slightly less scary than polar bears and thin sea ice (en route to the N.Pole last year)...

That's part of the plan - we'd like to make a Gold Fever style documentary, focusing on the training/build-up/etc...
