A slight hiccup, I cant get my paint code/body code recognised to identify the paint colour. Here is the body code from the plate under the bonnet, PL22-1782b, can anyone shed any light on this, look on my profile to see a light metallic blue,if it helps. Halfrauds were no good and the local car spraying specialists were pants. Help this poor frustrated chap as he is pulling his hair out!!!!!

Try the paintshop at the factory, the paint code you have is ICI and they will tell you the other codes that will get you the right paint.

Got it, the colour is a Mist Blue, thats the good news. It was only supplied to TVR, so it looks as though I will have to trawl the local paint shops/sprayers and see if I can get some made up. TVR were very helpful and the guy in the paintshop said to phone with any problems and they would try and help.

Firstly are you sure its PL22 and not P422 ?
If it is the latter then its TVR 193 colour ref.
Then go to PPG (Autocolour)tel. 01449 771771.
If its only a small amount you want for touch up, there is a colour in the Ford range of spray cans from a Ford Dealer or Halfrauds that is close.
(my S2 was P422-1782B - hence the above)

I'm with John Mac, my S3 colour was p4222362, Halfwits had just had a colour range update and as it happens the colour of "earlier TVRs was now included" so the nice young chap with gold necklace and burbra told me. they offered both touch up container (complete with stirring brush) or spray canister.

I had recieved confirmation today.

The 1782B part of the code is an ICI code. The colour is Mist Blue. Any paint factor who supplies ICI will be able to provide some.

Most other paint suppliers don't produce formulations from TVR due to the unlikeley cost recovery from small volumes.

I got this info from Sayers Motor Factors in Northampton, who incidentally can mix the colour and then build it into spray cans.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help and advice lads, I got my paint at the weekend on the Isle Of Wight, I gave them the ICI code and it took 1/2 an hour to mix up an aerosol and a touch up in acrylic plus a lacquer.
