Hi guys,
I'm trying to source the Tower View silencers in time for a track day on the 26th October, but they can't guarantee these will be done - does anyone have or know of a set I could beg, borrow or steal. I think the car may get under the limit anyway even with the semi sport exhaust as the limit is 105Db, just want to be sure.... all help appreciated!

I have a few you could borrow if you get stuck, as long as you promise not to lose them! Whereabouts in the country are you?

I have an idea they're the same size tail pipes but if we measure both of them we'll know for sure. I'm based in Milton Keynes by the way. Get back to you with some sizes later ...

And the answer is ... two and a half inch outside diameter. Have a variety of tailpipe inserts that are worth maybe 3-4 dB. Also a pair of Merlin cans that are worth quite a lot more, but will scratch the outside of your tail pipes which might be an issue with you. Combination of inserts and cans gives a pretty good 'stealth' mode.
When is your track day? You might well have time to get some Jetex inserts or Merlin cans by mail order.
Otherwise you're welcome to borrow these as long as you're prepared to collect/deliver, and promise not to lose them or forget to bring 'em back!

Cheers Pete, internal diameter of my exhaust is 60mm, is this too small? If not I may have to borrow if poss? Milton Keynes is a bit out of the way, so I'll put a post up asking if anyone closer to home has them... cheers Steve. Still waiting for Tower View ones to come in stock seems like a no go-er at the moment. Sh!t

Sounds like the same thing, 2 1/2 OD works out at about 2 3/8 ID, 58 mil ish. Probably identical, worst case is they rattle slightly on yours.
I'll leave it up to you, but the offer is there. As I mentioned before, as an alternative Merlin sell suitable external cans by mail order, these could be with you within a couple of days.

sorry to but in a bit cheeky i know, but if your needing tail mufflers try the TVR bods, Tower view, penisula or ACT we do polished stainless steel TVR tail silencers £45, i don't bother with mild steel so much, but they would be around £30, I don't know what the other guys do, but i know we price them keenly, try Merlin but check prices.
