Would PH or ABD fund candidates to stand for MP's at the next gen election to stand perhaps as Independants and redress the balance for road users?

Ie. sensible views on camera use, punishment of scotes stealing cars, speed doesnt kill, re-taking driving tests every 5 years, better investment in road maintenance, better driver education, sensible speed limits etc.

You have my vote and I would happily pay towards such a fund. You have my vote in West Sussex.

Any views.

there'd be no problem if we all lived in the same constituency instead of beings 1:1000 ratio between us and numpties & morons in any given area..

Good idea in principle, nonetheless..

I can certainly round up a phallanx of centurions.

We've got to do something other than keep bleating on as we all do; I'd gladly donate a century towards any such ends.

There has to be a political Messiah to rescue people like us PHers who are broadly of similar(ish) views re driving and speeding, that can stand up to what CarZee calls the 'lentlista.'

Wierd how no polticians try to bag the motorists' vote (this has been said before, I know); it really would be a vote winner, IMHO, so why not?

It's not just PHers who feel like this you know. It's most people. I'm amazed at just how stupid the Tories are. BLiar's lot are giving them the next election on a plate and the senile fools are just too dense to realise it, and continue to behave like a bunch of old ladies arguing about a cake stall.

I agree Yertis.. it's staring them in the face but I reckon they just can't let go of the fact that many of their core supporters are very much in the senior age bracket and "frankly wouldn't much like that sort of thing."

First off, you want a set of clear manifesto items that don't degenerate into a pikey scum rant.

Second Petrol Ted could do a quick poll linked off this to determine the area most strongly represented by PH'ers. I'm sure PH'ers would contribute regardless of location if they were fully agreed with the agenda points.

What l am suprised about is that the ABD for all their foaming mouth action haven't put anyone forward in this very way already.

One issue parties are pretty much always doomed to failure... look at the Referendum party, and that had Jimmy Goldsmiths money behind it, all it succeeded in doing was slightly increasing Bliars majority.

Made me wonder to hear on BBC news the other day that the AVERAGE age of a Tory party member is 67...

We are the NEW Tory Party

Jeez, with the combined knowledge and wit in here we could out-debate any of the current incumbents .....

Used to be £500 deposit and you needed 500 votes to get your deposit back. So that a load of no-hope pisstakers wouldn't just sign up for a larf.. errrm.. ( d'oh! )

You're mistaken, that was the Tory conference not a cake stall. Oh same thing, I see....

Probably a more realistic start is local council elections. Now before you all laugh the green party (read tree hugging veggy eating cardigan wearing numskulls)begun to have influence at this very point when they managed to get a few council seats. As the local police/council will be responsible for setting the limits where better to start?

As usual CarZee is on the money (damn you )

You have to put down £500 to register as a candidate in a general election and poll one twentieth (i.e. 5%) of all votes polled for all candidates.

(Apparrently this usually works out to be somewhere
between 800 and 1200 votes).
