There must be some movie buffs here who have more knowledge than me, back when we had sky TV I used to watch this old 60's or maybe 70's movie on TCM used to come round in the rotation every few months late at night

The opening credits was a man sticks on his driving gloves & gets in a red convertible sports car & proceeds to drive it like he stole it down a mountain road, cliffs on one side with the ocean the other (with the road cut in the side) tunnels & concrete barriers can't remember the rest of the movie or even who was in it

Anyone have any ideas

Initial though was the Italian Job, but he’s not wearing gloves…

I can't think of what the actual film might have been but could it have been Highway One through Big Sur?

All red convertibles between 1965-1975 in movies. Mentions red in the images even if the car isn't so there's a few extras.

I think it's Carry On The Buses, where Stan gets mistaken for a mafia boss when the family go on holiday to Sicily.

It sounds like True Lies, but obviously that film wasn't from that era.

Charles Hawtrey was excellent as the godfather-type character, it’s my favourite Carry On The Buses film. Carry On The Doctor On The Buses is a close second.
