Having read other posts on Pistonheads about a well know auction site, scammers and the auction siding with the buyer, I am hesitant to use that site again. I also sold something on there for £600 and ended up with fees of £83.

So...question is...where is a decent and safe place to sell used hifi? Should it be a general auction type site or better to go hifi specific?

I have a piece of used high end equipment worth around £450. It will have a very specific type of customer. The e-est of bays will have customers but I don't want to get robbed!

There are plenty of audio forums out there but, depending on what the item is, you'll tend to get a better response on one forum more than others.

What is it you're selling?

Ebay is absolutely fine as long as you use a bit of common sense. I've been on AVforums for a long time as a member, and they have a well established trading forum, but if you are new, expect to either send first or deal face to face.

Thanks all. It's a network streamer and high endish. Kind of thing that works with Tidal/Qobuz. Seem to be going for £450 on Ebay but £70 of that would go on fees. It will appeal to a particular type of buyer.

I refrained from mentioning Ebay earlier. Been using it for 20 years but don't like their manner. Would rather deal with people who are looking at and understand good hifi. Will look at AV forums.

Moon MiND?

I'm just getting into streaming using a bluesound node. Loved it (streaming) so much i bought Project S2 Ultra Streambox. Slightly better sound quality but the UI lets it down.

What is it that you are selling? Point of this post is that I maybe interested.

PM me if you would prefer.
