Full Fat Range Rover - L322 content

Hi guys
For the last 6 months I've been knocking around in a 2004 S4 Avant which I absolutely love. It has had loads of work done by the former owner including complete timing chain rebuild and full respray.
Its had uprated Bilstein suspension and a remap and puts out 360hp - fantastic daily and I cant think of anything id prefer for 6K.
In 6 months I've put 10k miles on it and it hasnt missed a beat other than needing a replacement alternator.

The only thing I started to get annoyed about was the MPG
So what have I dont about that? Bought a FFRR of course!!
Im going to keep the Audi for now and alternate between the Range and the S4 - my daily commute is 60 miles and I have 2 young kids - both cars are perfect.
So the RR:
Its a 2007 3.6 TDV8 in Java Black with full black interior. Its done 130K miles with good history and underneath is absolutely.
Ive done a few bits do far:
- Upgraded to L405 21 inch wheels
- Full machine polish
- Black side vents and grill

Everything works - suspension goes up and down without fault and the gearbox is all good.
Im going to do a full service next week myself and have booked it in for a gearbox flush at a local specialist.
It is a proper job! I know its old tech but I love the way it drives and it has real presence.
My other half has a Volvo XC90 and the Range absolutely dwarfs it!!
The MPG is 28 on a run so the same as the Audi! Great man maths!
Just plan to enjoy it and gradually upgrade - Bluetooth is a must!

Fantastic cars. I ran one for about 18 months. Two trips to France for which it was the perfect car.
Surprisingly easy to work on and plenty of help online. Mine needed the turbo hoses replacing after one split sending it in to limp mode. Cheap and simple to DIY.
Also had an issue where it slipped out of drive a couple of times and a few times I couldn’t get it out of park easily. Turned out to be a gear linkage under the car that sits below an aircon condenser pipe. The bushes had worn. I think it cost about £10 in parts and 30 mins work once I’d worked out the problem.
Stereo packed up but that was caused by a faulty TV module in the boot area where it can get a bit damp. Easily fixed with a fibre optic bypass loop!
I miss mine now and wish I’d kept it as a toy to play with. They are such value for money now, especially if you find a good one and are willing to do a bit yourself.
Enjoy it!
