Has the video been found? The BFI was looking for it a few years ago.

And can anyone remember what type of car he was driving?

Austin A40 IIRC

Correction: Austin 1100, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdkc-7J41Is

I always remembered it as either an 1100 or perhaps a 1300. That video is a reconstruction with "new" (2006) footage mated to the original soundtrack.

A white or off-white 1100 as far as I recall.

"It's a sailing dingy".

I might be paraphrasing, but if you know, you know. smile

Can you name the couple without searching?

That's the same era as 'Charlie says...', Charlie being a cat.

Agreed. And the chap had a hanky on his head. They were eating ice cream.

Chap in the dingy was waving. Is he being friendly?

He wasn't the original Reginald Molehusband from the early 1967 ad, in fact he's nothing like him.

This was a recent remake with this actor with the original or virtually identical narration.

The original footage (I suspect) was lost years ago.
