Are there vegans here that are members of another religion? I'm under the impression that they're all agnostics and atheists.

My soon to be ex Brother in Law is vegan and very religious. He was a vegetarian for many years before a serious illness tipped him into veganism.

Alway have a curiosity on some vegan,
some become vegan because they don’t want to take life of an animal, do they not consider vegetables have life too?
If animal cruelty is the reason, would humanely slaughter animal products would be fine?

I know meat eaters who are agnostics or atheists, hence I conclude meat eaters are all agnostics or atheists.

I know an anti vaxer who eats meat, hence I conclude that meat eaters are anti vaxers.

That is unless you have evidence (with a sample size >1) to support your wild assertions

Fundamentalist loonies are in all walks of society not just amongst the vegans, it's just that the vegan loonies tend to be more vocal about their beliefs.

That's the thing, if you look at farm animals, they generally live longer and die less painfully than if they were out in the wild. Wolves, bears and wild dogs, for example, eat their prey while they're still conscious.

What I mean is this, it's permissible to eat meat in many religions. Veganism morally object to eating meat. Therefore veganism and those religions would be at odds with each other. This doesn't include people that turned to veganism for health reasons.

Is eating meat mandatory under any religion? Why would they be at odds with each other?

Lewis Hamilton is a vegan but also quite religious is he not?

I've always assumed that a larger proportion of people who live in urban locations are more likely to be vegan than people who live in the countryside.

Hamilton has lots of hobby horses he uses to cover up the fact he's gay.

Why he needs to cover it up is a different question, maybe it's because of whatever religion he follows.

I couldn’t care less if he is straight gay Bi non binary. Frankly they are his choices and totally harmless to anyone. That goes for anyone.

We have an amazing F1 champion who is British an icon and possibly going to be the best of all time (titles podiums fastest laps pole position etc).

People who only follow strict NHS guidelines for nutrition and exercise, avoid all risky activities and have regular medical assessments also live longer. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a better life.

I don’t recall ever meeting a vegan, I think it’s something they prefer to keep quiet about.

I have recently cut out meat from my diet; not quite 100% but almost. I still have a wee bite of a piece of meat the kids are eating now and then.

The decision to cut out meat and go down the plant-based/vegan/vegetarian/flexitarian route had absolutely nothing to do with religion.
