Oil leak E70 X5 3.0d pic attached

Just noticed oil on the drive. Must have been the cold snap. Its definitely fresh black oil.

From the picture looks like the oils been sitting there for some time. The car runs fine and the online oil thingy dipstick states the car is OK oil level wise.



It's due an oil service to be honest. 1200 miles left and we are due to head to France in 2 weeks.

Just hope the local indy has time. Otherwise its the local mechanic round the corner

See what the indy says; no point in guessing as it could be all sorts...

More than likely the rocker cover gasket though; fingers crossed

Hi car is in for a service and they said the leak was from the oil filter housing and the surround gasket.

Gaskets are being replaced. I'm genuinely shocked how expensive the parts are on the E70 say compared even to the newer M140i and M4 I have owned.

Is what it is. Let's get the car sorted.
