'Tis the season of Noddy Holder's pension contributions so we're inundated with tunes on the radio some of which I quite like, and other which immediately have to be switched off.

Each to their own but I quite like Wizard, Greg Lake, John Lennon, Pogues/Kirsty and a few others. On the No list are Band Aid, George Michael, McCartney, Crosby/Bowie and some others.

How about you?

My favourite month of the year, nothing but William Shatner's Christmas hits from now until 2022!

God bless the Shatner Clause.

I got a bit Xmassy this morning and found this version of his Xmas hit.

Greg Lake,

I gave him a bonus point for doing it in a church.

A spaceman came travelling is my favourite Christmas tune.

I always enjoy the Smith and Burrows album when I can't listen to any more WHAM!

Avoid: all the mainstream ones that are rolled out every year, though some are more tolerable than others.

Favourite: Christmas Everyday by Smokey Robinson

In fact if like that, you should track down the compilation album Santa Done Got Hip. There are loads of decent old songs on there that avoid the usual tripe. Really nice on Christmas morning.

(Special mention also to Yellowman for the classic Santa Claus Never Comes to the Ghetto - who doesn’t love a bit of dancehall synthesiser at Christmas?!)

Your taste in watches is better than that of music!

Fair play though. To have written a song that still brings in £500,000 a year nearly 50 years on is awesome. He does share it with Jim Lea though hehe

Sir Cliff (crosses chest) has a most excellent taste in wrist worn timepieces!

The child is a king, the carolers sing
The old has passed, there's a new beginning
Dreams of Santa, dreams of snow
Fingers numb, faces aglow

I love "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobbly Helms, and dislike on a cellular level "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day".

I should give an honourable mention to Sinead O' Connor's take on "Silent Night"; perfectly judged and very atmospheric.
