FaceBook market place scam ads

I’m getting the impression that FB market place is the new ‘Craigslist’ for rip off merchants and scammers, especially for car adverts.

Several adverts that have caught my eye recently in my own car buying hint have clearly been set ups.

It's a toxic cesspit. eBay has also been flooded with scam car/bike adverts for some time now, but they don't care... they're getting their £15 fee per listing.

Market place now surprisingly good just be ware anything that looks cheaper than it should be is likely to be a cat car as it does not show up unless you check

Best sticking to autotrader (or pistonheads!) or a few other more obscure sites like classic cars for sale, etc

Facebook, ebay & gumtree are cesspits. You might get a bargain but you have to be really careful & know what you are doing

You will encounter the dregs of society on FB marketplace.

Make sure you Hpi everything. All of the dodgy category / clocked cars that were flogged on autotrader in the past moved to fb marketplace / ebay / gumtree, because those platforms don't warn buyers that it's a suspect, and most don't even know to check.

Old dear rang today, belt and service done plus a new MoT as she wanted daughter to look after it. Yes there are scams but there are also good people in the world still.
