What is the best weekend out in the UK?

Other than a trip to the track with the motor what is the best weekend out in any City/Town in the UK/Ireland,ive heard Dublin,Newcastle and Cardiff are amongst the best night spots to be had,at the end of August ime going up to Manchester to sample the atmosphere of the "Mardi Gras" ,any experiences of the above Ladies and Gentlemen??

You can have a great night out anywhere, its all to do with the people you are with.

This is proved by the fact that I've had some top nights out in Crewe. If you've ever been there for a night out, you'll know that its friends that count, not where you are.

The best night out in the UK is Newcastle......

Nottingham is a great night out. There are several different areas of the town, from have a laugh at the chavs, to classy bars and eateries. And they do say there are 4 females to every male

As Racegirl says, Nottingham is a good night. Went for a stag do 2 months ago.

Manchester can be really good too, I spend many evenings rolling between pubs and clubs.

Go to Knusford or Wilmslow and your car will be in good company. It too will have a good night out while your enjoying a nice glass or two of something bubbly.

Another vote for Nottingham (had three amazing years at uni up there).

I agree that recently it had turned into a bit of a Stag/Hen capital which is a shame - still, if you avoid all of the obvious places (Yates, Ritzy's, Ocean, The Works etc..) you'll not see a comedy breast, veil or L-plate in sight.

I'll go with Newcastle, Edinburgh as well. Got to put in a vote for the home team, Liverpool, better than you would realise. Had a good night in Leeds a couple of weeks ago but avoid Manchester unless you like fighting.

Broad Street, Birmingham. The place to be seen, and sometimes have a small glass of falling-over water. Plenty of clubs, bars and restaurants to suit all budgets. The older you are, the earlier you leave.

Nottingham is great in the week but full of Chavs and Gary Lagers at weekends. 4/1 women ratio is load of rubbish.

IMO Newcastle, Brum, Manchester all better bets.

Brighton absolutely rocks.... full of er, homos, but still a brilliant night - good vibes, nice laid back (no pun!) atmospheres...

More votes for Cardiff and Newcastle too.

Newcastle for me is by far the best night out we travel frequently from Manchester for a p**s up at the quay side.
