Fabricate one by hand using body filler, or steal one from another BMW Z3.

Broken spindle by any chance? If so repair is an option.

The X8R mirror is a very good fix - I've fitted a couple and they are very good. It's easy to swap all the bits over and you only need to rattle can the base to something close to your colour.

Secondhand Z3 mirrors are a lottery. They're all around 20 or more years old now.

I miss my Z3, it was a great car (even though I only had it for 2yrs from new and the mirrors were fine!)
