WTF no intake trumpets?

Guys

Took plenum off to reseal for air leak and found this. No trumpets looks like 45mm apertures and the manifold below looks like it’s been opened up.

I’d got the whole intake from eBay and originally dumped it on in place if the carb to just get it running.

Is it pointless on a 3.9? I do have a MC1 cam installed and a set of polished and ported heads to fit later on.

Or bin it and get a nice set of ACT trumpets?

Give it a try and see it will no doubt work better however with your flowed heads and further mods , a few of us use em in some form or another TBH they are best suited for a motor that sees higher RPM action I wouldn't use this mod for a stump puller build

Thanks for that . I’ll leave it on there for the time being, I’m due a dyno visit before the heads go on and I’ll pop back afterwards and see what the difference is and look at trumpets after that.

I may well be mistaken but i think the powers Taraka upgrade uses a blended base like this alongside an increase in plenum intake bore size as well .
