Child savings

I have saved just over £5000 for my 13 year old for when he is 18 and will keep on putting into it. At the moment it’s in a child savings account and getting about £100 a year interest. Can anyone advise the best place to put it for an investment for 5 years

My kids is in an investment trust in stocks & shares, earning around 6% pa which is a lot better than any bank!
